Rob has been involved in the computer industry for more than 25 years. He saw a need to offer value added service to purchasers of personal computers.
In 1988 Rob started his own company in South Africa offering computer purchasers and potential owners advice on the best computerized solution for their requirements. His company also offered training and ongoing support to these clients.
In 1989 Rob specialized, and focused on assisting clients using Sage ERP Accpac accounting software and all associated products. Rob also offered these clients support on Novell Netware and Microsoft NT operating systems.
Rob has, over the past 17 years, installed and supported many Sage ERP Accpac installations ranging from single user PCs to wide area networks with over 150 Accpac users. These installations have included the “core” financial modules and a vast array of 3rd party and add-on modules. Rob also has considerable experience in the writing of custom reports.
His success in Sage ERP Accpac consulting has been in the belief that to offer a client a comprehensive service you should get to know and understand your client’s business operations. This allows you to integrate their computer and business systems and maximize their smooth operation.
Rob is a Certified Consultant for both ACCPAC Plus (for DOS) and Sage ERP Accpac.
Since 1997 Rob has focused on the Sage ERP Accpac products. He has undertaken many successful Sage ERP Accpac installations that have included conversion of data from ACCPAC Plus and other Accounting software systems. Some of these installations have been “multi company” and quite complex in their requirements, and include companies such as:
- VanCity Credit Union
- BC Hydro
- Accenture Business Services for Utilities
- Canadian Securities Registration Systems
The installations have been on different platforms using a range of different database engines.
Rob is also a Data Repair expert. The experience Rob gains from repairing corrupt Sage ERP Accpac data gives him the ability to understand the structure of the databases and from this the knowledge of how best to extract the critical information the client requires when creating custom reports.
