  Client needed to use IC Kitting to group materials for projects to accommodate various permutations of base material, colour and form. This would however have resulted in thousands of permutations of kits which made administration difficult. North49 modified the OE kitting function to allow the user to modify a kit on the fly in Order Entry by adding and/or removing items and change item build quantities.
   
  Because of the nature of their business, Mercury Metals purchase and stock raw sheet metals in pounds, an industry standard. When selling however, they quote and invoice per customer specifications in sheets. North49 set up optional fields in which the client could enter the number of sheets required as well as the linear specifications per sheet in metric or imperial measure. The program would then automatically calculate the equivalent stocking units in pounds and enter that on the order line. Since the optional field data is stored with each line the client could produce workshop documentation in both linear as well as stocking units of measure and customer documentation would reflect number of sheets with the appropriate measurements. North49 also added the appropriate optional fields to the main line entry form to facilitate easy of data entry without the need for a pop-up box for optional field entry.
